Create your own BibTeX style

There's a great way to create a customised BibTeX style (for example, to have all author names as I. N. Itial): just run TeX on makebst.tex (on /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/custom-bib/makebst.tex on a standard Linux system, or provided with the custom-bib package (see Question 98 in the UK TeX FAQ)) and answer a few questions. Then run (La)TeX on the resulting file. Voilà. No more editing the .bib file just to get the author names right…
